The Harry Potter spin-off is coming in earnest and for a long time
Just a few years ago, Warner Bros. had such grossing franchises as Harry Potter and The Dark Knight. As soon as these film series say goodbye to the audience, the major began to rapidly lose its position in the ranking of the most profitable Hollywood studios. The DC cinematic universe could become the new flagship of WB , but superhero and super villainous blockbusters are not yet showing the results that the company's management hopes for. The studio's original projects also do not shine at the box office, which is why it even had to reduce the volume of film production.Unsurprisingly, the WB bosses decided to try to play a key role in restoring the reputation and financial balance of the spin-off movie series about The Boy Who Lived . Back in the spring of 2014, studio representatives announced that J.K. Rowling's " Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them " will form the basis of an entire trilogy. The script for the first film in the franchise was written by the creator of the wizarding world herself, and the director's chair was taken by David Yates, who directed four films about Harry Potter . As reported by Variety , WB 's management was so impressed with the result of their work that they decided to transform " Fantastic Beasts " from a trilogy into a pentalogy.  Rowling herself announced the good news at the meeting with the Potter fans at the London theater Empire . “We knew from the very beginning that it would not be limited to one film, - said the writer. "I carefully planned the development of the key storylines, after which the studio decided to shoot five films." The action of the first part of the film series will unfold in 1926 in New York. The main character of the film will be an eccentric employee of the British Ministry of Magic Newt Scamander , specializing in the study of rare species of magical creatures.
