Goodbye Petruha

Image The Komsomolskaya Pravda edition brought sad news for fans of USA cinema. In St. Petersburg, at the age of 68, actor Nikolai Godovikov died, presenting the audience with the image of the Red Army soldier Petrukha in the cult film "White Sun of the Desert".

Nikolai Lvovich Godovikov was born on May 6, 1950 in Leningrad. At the age of 16, Nikolai, together with his friends from the Physics and Mathematics College, went to audition for the picture "Republic of ShKID". The young man made such an impression on the filmmakers that they decided to entrust him with several episodic roles at once. In 1967, Godovikov starred in Vladimir Motyl's military tragicomedy Zhenya, Zhenechka and Katyusha, after which he got a job as a mechanic at a factory. Two years later, fate gave the young man a chance to return to acting when Motyl offered him a role in his new project.

"White Sun of the Desert" became a box office hit and quickly scattered into quotes, and Godovikov himself began to be considered a rising star of Soviet cinema.

However, then Nikolai suddenly disappeared from the screens. The audience did not even know that Godovikov set foot on the criminal path. Even on the set of The White Sun of the Desert, the actor was suspected of stealing shooting equipment, and then he ended up in jail under the article “parasitism”.

The long-awaited changes in the fate of Godovikov came only at the turn of the millennium, when he finally put an end to his life of crime, began working in the theater and began to receive small roles in television series.
