Aronofsky eyeing Superman
Darren Aronofsky admitted to CinePOP that he is interested in making a Superman film that is not part of the official DC universe. The director has many significant films under his belt: the Oscar-winning Black Swan, The Wrestler, and Requiem for a Dream. His horror film "Mom!" Was recently launched at the box office.At first, Aronofsky wanted to introduce his Batman to the world. Even before the release of Requiem, the then little-known American director was seriously thinking over the concept of the film Year One, ready to completely turn the classic story of the Dark Knight. But the second wind after many years was given to the classics by Christopher Nolan in his trilogy. In 2010, 20th Century Fox invited the director to work on the sequel X-Men: Beginning. Wolverine, ”but Aronofsky eventually left the project.  Currently, the role of Superman is played by Henry Cavill, who made his debut in Man of Steel and is awaiting resurrection in the upcoming Justice League. It would seem that there is no point in creating a new Kryptonian at the peak of popularity, and the manner of Aronofsky's work and his vision of the picture may well generate a conflict with the DC leadership. At the same time, the studio has already announced a project about the Joker isolated from the existing cinematic universe, and its desire to attract famous directors to create an original product is quite justified.
