Gangs of New York
The film company CuffLink Productions intends to invite viewers to the criminal center of the Big Apple. According to the edition Variety , a young American studio has begun work on a so far unnamed film about one of the most violent gangs in the history of the famous New York district, Hell's Kitchen.The crime drama tells the story of the notorious crime group " Western " ( The Westies ), which included immigrants from Ireland. The gang began to run the Hell's Kitchen in the 60s of the last century. Although gangster James Coonan's gang consisted of only twenty people, it managed to keep at bay not only honest New Yorkers, but other street gangs as well. According to the FBI, " Western " have committed at least 60 murders in two decades. Federal agents have been trying to put Kunan behind bars for years. In 1979, the crime boss was arrested on suspicion of the murder of the bartender Harold Whitehead , but the prosecution was able to prove only the fact of illegal possession of firearms. Jimmy was released already in 1983, but five years later, the FBI still managed to force the criminal to answer for his atrocities to the fullest extent of the law. Thanks to the RICO act on the investment of capital received from the racketeering, Kunan was imprisoned for 75 years without the right to early release.  The script for the film about the gang The Westies will be written by the Oscar-winning Robert Moresco ("Showdown"), whose childhood and adolescence were spent in Hell's Kitchen. The crime drama will be produced by Joseph Isgro ("Hoffa") and Michelle Mandaville ("Hostage").
