Miracles at the bottom of the sea

Image Disney continues to pamper audiences with progress on numerous remakes of their iconic animated films. Just last month, the film company managed to announce the cast of "Aladdin" and "The Lion King", as well as find a leading role in the new version of the cartoon "Mulan". Now the Walt Disney empire has decided to bring good news to the fans of The Little Mermaid.

As it became known to the publication Deadline, the management of the Disney studio offered to lead the shooting of the game version of the animated hit 1989, Oscar nominee Rob Marshall. The 57-year-old film maker is an excellent candidate for the director of the musical film about the adventures of Princess Ariel. As a director and choreographer, he was nominated five times for the prestigious Tony Theater Award, and his debut in the world of cinema was the acclaimed musical Chicago.

Marshall already has a positive track record with Disney. In his filmography you can find the adventure blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and the fairy tale "Into the Woods ...", and next year he will present the film "Mary Poppins Returns" to the fans of the wizarding world of Disney.

If Rob Marshall is impressed by Jane Goldman's script, Disney will be ready to close a director deal early next year. Earlier it became known that the music for the remake of "The Little Mermaid" will be written by the composer of the original cartoon Alan Menken and winner of the Emmy, Grammy and Tony awards Lin-Manuel Miranda.
