Many, many years ago, in the distant 80s, Garry Marshall directed the romantic comedy Overboard, written by Leslie Dixon. In the center of the narrative was Joanna (Goldie Hawn) - a capricious rich lady with a personal yacht, who went on a boat trip with her husband. In one of the small towns near which their path lies, the heroine hires a simple carpenter Dean (Kurt Russell), however, dissatisfied with his work, she gives him a turn from the gate and refuses to pay. And so the hard worker would have remained without a well-deserved reward, but, apparently, karma overtakes Joanna at the most inopportune moment: as a result of an accident, the rich woman loses her memory and finds herself in the care of a deceived carpenter. Now Dean has a chance to win back.|
Thirty years after the release of the original film, Rob Greenberg and Bob Fischer decided to return to the Marshall comedy with a remake of the same name, but with a slight gender permutation: a rich and spoiled lady is transformed into the heir to one of the wealthiest families in Mexico, whose role went to Eugenio Derbez. And a single mother played by Anna Faris will have to convince the hero that he is her precious husband.
