Official: The Dark Tower TV Series to Be!
Earlier this month, the producer of " The Dark Tower " Ron Howard let slip that the heroes of the Stephen King book series can visit not only the big, but also the small screens. Sony Pictures and MRC have decided to make a nice present for the King of Horrors , who turned 69 yesterday. Producer and screenwriter Akiva Goldsman told Entertainment Weekly that the series based on the saga of the opposition of the forces of good and evil has officially gone into production.The franchise will start with the tape of Nikolai Arsel, which will be released in USA on February 23 next year. The series will receive from 10 to 13 episodes, and its production may begin in a few months. Since the studio Sony focuses on an adult rating, its management is going to seek shelter for their project on cable channels and online services. The plot of the TV adaptation of " The Dark Tower " will be based on the fourth novel of the book cycle - " The Wizard and the Crystal ". The most important role in this chapter of the story was played by the story of the journey of the young Roland Desceine to the Mejis fief, which shed light on the tragic past of the main character of the saga. The series will be produced by Howard , Goldsman and Arcel , who are already looking for a talented showrunner. To whet the interest of King fans in their new project, MRC decided to publish a map of Mejis, which is accompanied by the words of mentor Roland : “Let the rumor and the legend is ahead of you".  Idris Elba and Tom Taylor have already signed up to participate in the television companion of the film series, who will return to the characters of Roland and Jake Chambers , respectively.
