Desperate Widows
Next year, Steve McQueen's "Widows" will be released on the big screens, in which several women, whose husbands died during a robbery, decide to continue the business started by the spouses. Channel ABC will soon acquire their own widows, who, however, have different goals. Perhaps they will be the ones who will be able to fill the niche that is empty after the end of Desperate Housewives.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way company is developing a remake of the Scandinavian drama Black Widows. The script for the new show will be written by Caroline Drys, whose past projects include Smallville and The Vampire Diaries. In the Scandinavian series, different genres are intertwined - drama, thriller and even comedy. The original, created by Mikko Pella and Rup Lehtinen, is set in a seemingly idyllic town nestled in the mountains. The main characters are three women whose husbands work for the same company. They are not alike at all, but they have something in common: they perfectly understand that without their spouses, their life would be much better. And then one day all three husbands are killed during a mysterious explosion. Secrets, taken away lives and the truth that is difficult to hide, are intertwined ...  Remarkably, ABC is not the first to adapt the Finnish show. Earlier, the Mexican company Televisa shot its own remake. The Topic of Article: Desperate Widows. |
