The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards took place today at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by popular satirist, actor and director Stephen Colbert, who has won many Emmy awards. Since this year "Game of Thrones" was not presented in the nominations, many wondered who would be the triumphant in the dramatic categories. Many new series received the opportunity to compete for the main television award, but more than the rest of the American Television Academy liked "The Handmaid's Tale": the dystopian drama from the online service Hulu won five awards at once. A similar situation was observed in miniseries: Big Little Lies beat the competition in five categories. Among comedies, things were not so simple, but the show "Vice President" became the best for the third year in a row, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus took the sixth Emmy award for the role of Selina Mayer. 2017 Emmy winners: Best Drama Series The Handmaid's Tale House of Cards "You Better Call Saul" "Crown" "This is us" "Westworld" "Mysterious Events" Best Actor in a Drama Series Sterling K.
