Tom Hardy will conquer Antarctica
Briton Tom Hardy is ready to conquer new heights - this time he decided to go to Antarctica. As the site Deadline found out, the actor will play the main role in a biographical drama about Sir Ernest Shackleton , which is in the work of the company StudioCanal .Shackleton commanded three British expeditions to Antarctica during what is known as the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. The life story of Sir Ernest has already been told in the miniseries "Lost in Antarctica" ( Shackleton ) starring Kenneth Branagh. The TV drama received both Emmy and BAFTA awards. The script for the new project is entrusted to Peter Strohan, who previously worked on the tapes "Frank" and "Spy, Get Out!". Hardy will play Shackleton himself, whose ship was trapped in ice during one of the expeditions and eventually sank to the bottom. However, Shackleton and his team covered a distance of about 350 miles across the ice before reaching the mainland, and managed to survive.  The previous year turned out to be very fruitful for Tom Hardy - four films with his participation were released on the big screens at once, among them - "The Survivor" and "Mad Max: Fury Road". The actor recently completed filming for Christopher Nolan's historical drama Dunkirk. Hollywood producers have tried several times to transfer the story of Shackleton to the movies. So, at the beginning of the year, Mark L. Smith worked on the text of the film Endurance for Leonardo DiCaprio's company Appian Way , but since then there has been no news about the project.
