When one of the most highly paid actors of our time and a multiple Oscar nominee is taken on a project, it immediately becomes one of the most anticipated by movie fans.According to the portal Variety , the production company Annapurna Pictures , together with Team Downey , begins work on an as yet unnamed film about a famous doctor-quack. Richard Linklater ("Boyhood") will take the director's chair, and Robert Downey Jr. will play the main role. The movie will be based on an episode of the Reply All podcast from Gimlet Media , released in January.The film will focus on Dr. John Brinkley - a charlatan who has achieved success thanks to medicine, populism and radio. As the physician rose to prominence, his work attracted the attention of Dr. Morris Fishbein , editor of the American Medical Association journal. He set out to expose Brinkley , who has gained incredible popularity, in large part because of the innovative method of treating impotence through transplanting the gonads of a domestic goat into men.  Also in the plans of Linklater there is one more project for Annapurna - the adaptation of the novel "Where Have You Gone, Bernadette?" Robert Downey Jr. will appear in the blockbuster "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in the spring, and recently the actor began filming the new "Avengers".
