Legendary and Dune Make Dreams Come True
Many Hollywood filmmakers have a dream project, and in most cases they never get a chance to work on it. However, the director Denis Villeneuve was among the lucky ones - he is in negotiations to lead the filming of the new "Dune" . The information site Variety writes about this.A month ago, we reported that Legendary Pictures has acquired the rights to film the books by Frank Herbert. However, even before this information appeared in the press, Villeneuve admitted in one of his interviews that he is an ardent admirer of "Dune" and would like to shoot a new version of it. “I've been planning to do science fiction for a long time. 2001: A Space Odyssey and Blade Runner made an indelible impression on me when I was a teenager,- said then Villeneuve . -My old dream is to adapt Dune , but I'm afraid I will never get the rights to it.. It looks like Legendary studio is ready to bring Denis 's dream to life, and the major bosses were clearly not mistaken with the choice of the director. The last three films Villeneuve - "Captives", "The Assassin" and "Arrival" - were successful at the box office and critically acclaimed. Next year, the director will add to his accomplishments the sequel Blade Runner , the teaser trailer for which looks pretty impressive.  Dune Herbert has influenced several generations of filmmakers and is widely regarded as one of the greatest science fiction stories of all time. In 1984, the work was filmed by David Lynch, but the picture, unfortunately, failed at the box office, although over time it acquired the status of a cult.
