In recent years, the director has shot films intended for a narrower audience - they were released either in individual countries or sent straight to video. For example, among the recent works of Uwe you can find the action films Rage 3 and Rage: Death Penalty.But it looks like Ball's directorial career has come to an end. In an interview with Metro , the director said that the third Rage is his last film. Uwe explains this decision by the fact that he sponsored all his projects independently, and now there is no opportunity to shoot what he likes. “The market is dead and it’s impossible to make money from movies as DVD and Blu-ray sales have dropped 80% over the past three years. This is the real reason - I can no longer afford to make films. I myself have financed my projects since 2005, and if I had not been involved in film adaptations of video games, then even this capital would not have been able to accumulate ", admitted Ball .  However, this is not the first time that the filmmaker has announced his retirement from the film business - last year, Uwe released a video in which he spoke of his retirement, expressing his dissatisfaction with the abundance of movie comics on the screens and the Hollywood system in general.
