USAn box office covered Geostorm
Last week, four new films were in the top five of the leaders in USA distribution, but this time there were practically no competitors. Only one debutant appeared in the top, and he also managed to lead the financial rating.The first place according to the results of the weekend was taken by a fantastic disaster film called "Geostorm". In the story, after a series of natural disasters, the leaders of the world powers have joined forces to create a network of climate control satellites to prevent cataclysms. However, at some point, the system crashes and begins to threaten the safety of the planet. Now it remains only to have time to discover the problem before the worldwide Geostorm wipes out all living things from the face of the Earth. The film was the directorial debut of screenwriter and producer Dean Devlin, who worked on such famous films by Roland Emmerich as "Universal Soldier", "Stargate", "Independence Day" and "Godzilla". Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Andy Garcia and Ed Harris starred in the fantasy action movie. Despite the fact that at home the tape showed an absolutely disastrous start, earning a little more than $ 13 million on the first weekend with a budget of $ 120 million, for our rental the result of Geostorm can be called quite decent. During the premiere weekend, the film managed to get 298 million rubles in its piggy bank. She managed to surpass the results of such disaster films as "San Andreas Rift" (263 million rubles) and "Independence Day: Renaissance" (226 million rubles).  And yet, despite the box office, it cannot be said that the USA audience was delighted with the film. The problems with the tape began at the production stage. In the last stages of work, Jerry Bruckheimer was brought in as a producer, as a result of which many scenes were re-shot. Whether this is good for the film or not is unknown. To the disadvantages of the tape, reviewers include a huge number of plot cliches, an indistinct script with dialogues, and not the most impressive acting. The graphics with special effects also disappointed the audience.  The leader of last week, space drama by Klim Shipenko "Salyut-7", has dropped to the second line. The film's box office fell by only 25% compared to last weekend and amounted to 192 million rubles. All in all, the film about the rescue of the space station by brave cosmonauts performed by Vladimir Vdovichenkov and Pavel Derevyanko has earned 518 million rubles at the moment. Obviously, the film will be able to overtake at the box office another domestic space blockbuster "Time of the First" with Yevgeny Mironov and Konstantin Khabensky in the lead roles, released on the eve of Cosmonautics Day. The piggy bank of this picture has 562 million rubles.  Behind Salyut-7 was Doug Lyman's adventurous action movie Made in America with Tom Cruise as an adventurous pilot who became one of the richest men in the United States in the 1980s, simultaneously working for the CIA and the Colombian drug cartel. The last weekend brought the film 48 million rubles, but in total she managed to collect 192 million rubles in two weeks of rental.  On the fourth line was the animated adventure comedy co-produced by America and Canada - "My Little Pony in the Movie". Little fans of Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and other rainbow ponies have already brought the creators of the cartoon 121 million rubles, of which 35 were given over the last weekend.  Closes the top five of the leaders in the financial ranking of the fantastic thriller by Denis Villeneuve "Blade Runner 2049". The weekly collection of the painting naturally continues to decline, this time sagging by almost 70% compared to the previous weekend. However, this does not prevent Blade Runner from staying in the top for the third week in a row. The past weekend brought 34 million rubles to the sequel to the 1982 cult science fiction film starring Harrison Ford.
