His first role Joaquin Phoenix performed back in 1982 at the age of eight, but his first really loud success with critics came to him in 1995 thanks to his participation in the filming of the crime drama by Gus Van Sant b>"Die in the name". Two decades later, the actor may have a new opportunity to work under the guidance of an eminent director.According to Variety , Phoenix and Van Sant are not averse to joining forces to create a biographical drama about the life of the famous American cartoonist John Callahan . The plot of the film " Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot " * ( Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot ) will be based on the autobiography of the same name artist. Hollywood has shown interest in her adaptation since the early 90s. At some point, Robin Williams applied for the role of Callahan , but then the biopic was never launched. When Callahan was only eight years old, he was sexually abused by his teacher. The resulting psychological trauma led to the fact that the boy began to seriously get involved in alcohol. One day after a day of heavy drinking, 21-year-old John was involved in a car accident that paralyzed his arms and legs.  After completing a rehabilitation course, Callahan finally gave up his bad habits and learned to draw by holding a pencil between his naughty hands. With his characteristic black humor, John began to touch upon the most pressing problems of modern society in his cartoons, and so he managed to quickly acquire a huge army of fans. The artist died in 2010 from complications after an operation to cleanse chronic pressure ulcers. Two animated series were based on his work - "Pelswick" ( Pelswick ) and "The Magnificent Four" ( Quads ).  A couple of years ago, the "Sea of Trees" ribbon could resume cooperation between Van Sant and Phoenix .
