The streaming service Netflix accidentally announced the premiere date for the first season of The Witcher, which is based on a literary source and a series of popular video games and is dedicated to the adventures of Geralt of Rivia. As noted by Redanian Intelligence, the announcement was posted on the company's Dutch Twitter account.

Despite the fact that the post counting the number of "sleepless nights" before the start of the show was quickly deleted, subscribers managed to take screenshots. If the Netflix publication is true, then The Witcher will premiere on December 17, 2019.

The Witcher is based on the work of the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, which previously served as the basis for a series of video games. The last episode titled "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was released in 2015. In the TV version, Henry Cavill played the main role, it also starred Freya Allan, Joey Baty, MyAnna Bering, Tom Canton, Anya Chalotra, Eamon Farren, Bjorn Hlinur Haraldsson, Adam Levy and other artists.

Note, that Netflix has already ordered production for the second season, which will begin movieing in the first half of 2020.
