Cannes appreciates Swedish satire

Image The international Cannes Film Festival has finished its work on the Cote d'Azur. This year, as always, the members of the honorary jury had to make a difficult choice - 19 films from directors from all over the world were presented to their judgment.

As a result, the jury headed by the renowned Spanish film maker Pedro Almodovar named the winner of the 70th jubilee festival the comedy drama " Square " from the Swedish director Ruben Estlund. The film, which is a highly social satire on art, trade, politics and national identity, has already won critics for its originality.

USA cinematography did not go unnoticed in Cannes - " Dislike " by Andrey Zvyagintsev was awarded the Jury Prize . Nicole Kidman also received a special award for starring in three films and a series presented at the festival.

Jury Prize : " Dislike " (Andrey Zvyagintsev)

Grand Prix : " 120 beats per minute " (Robin Campillo)


Palme d'Or : " Square " (Ruben Estlund)
