Casting: Earth savior and pupil Mary Poppins
The Netflix service continues to delight not only TV series fans with new projects, but also movie fans. The news site Variety managed to get some casting news for the next movie Netflix - the sci-fi drama Io . The roles were given to Anthony Mackie (Captain America: The Other War), Margaret Qualley (Goodfellas) and Danny Houston (" 21 grams ").The director's chair of the project is entrusted to Jonathan Helpert, and the writers include Clay Jeter, Charles Spano and Will Basanta (Jess + Moss). Margaret Qualley will play Sam Walden - a teenage girl from among the last people left on the disaster-stricken Earth. Before the shuttle leaves the planet on its way to the space colony, Sam frantically searches for a remedy that could change the fate of her home. Maki took on the role of Miki - a mysterious fugitive who will make Sam doubt that the Earth can still be saved ...  Filming will begin this week in France. Emily Mortimer ("Isle of the Damned") has signed up for the movie " Mary Poppins Returns ", in which Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda have already staked out the main roles. In addition to them, the cast of the film includes Meryl Streep and Ben Whishaw.  Rob Marshall's project will be a kind of continuation of the 1964 film, and Mortimer will play Jane Banks in it. In the original, she, along with her brother Michael , was a pupil of Mary Poppins . The world premiere of the sequel is set for December 25, 2018 . Angauri Rice ( Nicefellas ) was cast in Deceived , a remake of the 1971 film of the same name. The script for the new version was written by Sofia Coppola ("Marie Antoinette"), she will also lead the filming of the project. The action will unfold in the women's gymnasium, where fate brings a wounded soldier. With the appearance of a man, lonely residents of the boarding house fall into a whirlpool of jealousy, hatred and lust.
