USAn Box Office: Blade Runner came first
The next week of film distribution did not prepare any surprises. One of the most anticipated films of the year, the film by the Canadian director, Oscar nominee Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 climbed to the first line of the financial rating.In 1982, Ridley Scott's film was released based on the novel by science fiction writer Philip K. Dick "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer and Sean Young. Despite the fact that critics did not appreciate the tape, and it failed at the box office, over time it began to be considered a cult film and is called one of the best science fiction films ever made. And now, 35 years later, Denis Villeneuve took up the continuation of the story of a police detective, who has to find and destroy artificially created people, called replicants. Ryan Gosling got the main role in the film, and Ana de Armas, Robin Wright, Sylvia Hooks, Mackenzie Davis, Jared Leto and Dave Batista joined him. Harrison Ford returned to his role.  The creators of the tape and studio Warner Bros. did their best to keep the plot a secret at all stages of production up to the release of the project. On the one hand, watching a film without picking up spoilers before this is much more interesting, but on the other hand, even in the trailers there was not even a hint of the real plot of the picture, plus many years have passed since the release of the first part, and not everyone saw it. All this, according to Western analysts, did not have the best effect on the influx of viewers to cinemas and box office receipts. But if in the USA the starting results of the distributors completely disappointed, then for our country the premiere fees were quite good. The past weekend brought "Blade Runner 2049" 285 million rubles. Of course, the phenomenal start of the horror "It" (417 million rubles), the tape about replicants could not be repeated, and the same Kingsman agents raised 75 million rubles on the first weekend. more (they managed to earn 350 million rubles). However, the film started in line with the expectations of film distributors and at the level of another representative of the cyberpunk genre, the film "Ghost in the Shell". She at the end of March this year managed to earn 263 million rubles for the premiere weekend. As for Villeneuve's films, this is the best start among his works. The director's highest grossing project up to this point was last year's Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. The tape, warmly received by critics and viewers and receiving eight nominations for the "Oscar", has mastered 118 million rubles for the premiere weekend, having finished renting at around 261 million rubles.  Critics and viewers who managed to see the picture received it as a whole extremely favorably, sometimes even enthusiastically. Of course, some were confused by the timing of the tape, and it lasts 2 hours and 43 minutes, someone was disappointed by the slowness of the narration and the lack of action. But those who liked the picture note the incredible cinematography of Roger Deakins and the excellent musical accompaniment, on which Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfish worked. The audience was also delighted with the gloomy atmosphere of a depressing future, the style and aesthetics of futuristic Los Angeles, respect for the original, an interesting plot that does not let go for almost three hours, and, of course, those few unexpected twists, the leakage of which was so feared by the creators of the tape. Reviewers do not skimp on praises to the director of the picture, they read the Oscar to the operator,  Second place went to last week's leader, the USA patriotic drama Crimea. The box office of Alexei Pimanov's directorial project fell by more than 50% to RUB 77 million. All in all, a love story set against the backdrop of dramatic events received 281 million rubles from the audience. Perhaps the collection of the tape is still far from covering the production budget of 400 million rubles, but among the films directed by the permanent host of the program "Man and Law", this is the best result. "Crimea" is Pimanov's third full-length film to be released on big screens. The last film "Dolly the Sheep was angry and died early" in 2015 at the start mastered 23 million rubles, having collected about 47.5 million rubles for the entire rental period, and the picture "Three days in Odessa" in 2007, starting from the mark of 13 million rubles, collected in the end 39 million rubles.  The third line of the rating is occupied by another novelty of this week, the USA comedy "Life Ahead". Director Karen Oganesyan brought together such popular actors and actresses as Svetlana Khodchenkova, Alexander Pal, Pavel Priluchny, Artur Smolyaninov, Denis Shvedov, Yegor Koreshkov, Olga Medynich and Maxim Vitorgan, and told the story of the meeting of 11 "B" 15 years after graduation at the funeral of one of his classmates. The heroes remember all their old secrets, personal grievances and first falls in love, which turns into a real whirlpool of passions. Viewers who watch the film call it both sad and funny. Among the pluses, they highlight the fact that there is a very organic combination of both funny, awkward, and sometimes absurd scenes, and quite dramatic and serious things. As for the cons, then, as often happens lately, one of the problems was the script. The tape consists of mini-stories about each of the characters, but the transition between them turned out to be uneven and almost no storyline is completed, which leaves the audience after watching a feeling of incompleteness and understatement. And yet, the picture is filled with a lyrical mood, which certainly will not leave indifferent people who graduated from school 10-15 years ago. For the premiere weekend of Karen Oganesyan's tragicomedy with a budget of 48 million rubles. managed to earn about 59 million rubles. The film started much better than the director's last film, "A Gift with Character" in 2014 raised 43 million rubles on the first weekend. But the comedy "What the girls are silent about", released four years ago, made its debut all the same better. The premiere weekend that fell on March 8 then brought the tape 65 million rubles.  The sequel to the 2015 comedy action movie Kingsman: The Secret Service dropped from second to fourth. Two years later, director Matthew Vaughn, having assembled an excellent acting team led by Taron Egerton, Colin Firth and Mark Strong, filmed a continuation of the story about British super-spies who, even with the help of a banal umbrella, are able to deal with dangerous enemies. Financially, the second part showed itself somewhat better than the first. The third week of distribution brought the film "Kingsman: Golden Ring" an additional 50 million rubles, but at the moment it has managed to collect almost 691 million rubles. But the original picture for the entire rental period was able to earn 650 million rubles.  The American adventure drama "Mountains Between Us" closes the top five. Based on the novel of the same name by writer Charles Martin, the film tells the story of two yesterday strangers, neurosurgeon Ben and photojournalist Alex, who managed to survive the plane crash, and now they have to not only find a common language, but also learn to survive in the extreme conditions of snow-capped mountains. Oscar winner Kate Winslet and Golden Globe laureate Idris Elbe won the leading roles in the film. Critics and audiences alike took the film positively, albeit without much enthusiasm. Neither the excellent play of the actors (director Hani Abu-Assad decided not to spare them and for the sake of reliability sent them to act in really harsh conditions), nor the story itself, following which, the viewer can be scared for the heroes, and smile, and wipe away a tear of emotion at the end, could not change what, in fact, the tape is a rather banal melodrama with predictable plot twists. And too easily, according to the reviewers, the heroes managed to cope with difficult environmental conditions.
