Peter Jackson will board the mortal machine
After spending six years working on the Hobbit trilogy, Peter Jackson took a well-deserved sabbatical. Two years have passed since the release of the last part of the franchise, and now the filmmaker is ready for new projects. According to the website Collider , one of them will be the screen version of Philip Reeve's novel Mortal Machines .With Fran Walsh and Phillip Boyens, Jackson will adapt the piece for large screens, but will not direct the production. The book Riva is the first in a series of fantastic steampunk novels, which should form the basis of an entire film series.The action of the post-apocalyptic "Mortal Machines" takes place in the distant future, where the cities of the Earth on giant wheels circle the planet in the struggle for constantly dwindling resources.
