John Boyega will fight the kaiju
The latest news on the Pacific Rim sequel has given hope to those eagerly awaiting the sequel to the blockbuster. For example, Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil / Daredevil ) replaced Guillermo del Toro as director, and Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) was appointed as the new scriptwriter for the project in May.Now from the official press release it became known that the main role in the second Pacific Frontier was given to John Boyega , who announced himself after the release of The Force Awakens. It is reported that the actor will play the son of Stacker Pentecost , whose image in the first part was embodied by Idris Elba. At one time Guillermo del Toro planned to return to work on the sequel Charlie Hannam, Rinko Kikuchi and Ron Perlman, but there is no information about them in the press release. Filming for the sequel should start in the last quarter of this year.  After The Force Awakens John Boyega received some interesting suggestions. The actor managed to take part in the work on the thriller "The Sphere" and is now busy filming the eighth episode of the stellar saga, and in the future he plans to voice one of the heroes of the animated series "Inhabitants of the Hills".
