Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan Have a Daring Prison Break
Multiple Oscar nominee and winner of various prestigious film awards, Irish director and screenwriter Jim Sheridan (In the Name of the Father, In America, Brothers) has decided on his next project. It will be the real story of the escape of a group of prisoners from the Mays prison in Northern Ireland. Known as the Great Escape, it was later used as a propaganda tool for the terrorist group of the Irish Republican Army (IRA).H-Block will be starring Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Inception) and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades gray "," Fall "). In addition, they may be joined by Pierce Brosnan ("Golden Eye", "Son"), who is currently negotiating to participate in the filming.  The film will focus on the escape from a maximum security prison, where prisoners of the IRA terrorist group were held, convicted of murders and bombings. The prison was considered one of the most secure facilities in Europe, but in September 1983, 38 prisoners managed to escape from it. Only nineteen of them were caught. As a result of the escape, one of the guards died of a heart attack, twenty people were injured, one prison officer was shot in the head, but he managed to survive. The escape was accompanied by the taking of hostages and is considered the largest in the history of Great Britain. Cillian Murphy is cast as the leader of a group of IRA prisoners who has earned the respect of prison guards but now just wants a peaceful life. Dornan had a chance to embody on the screen an image completely different from those that he embodied before. The actor will play the role of a prisoner who discovers weaknesses in the prison system, but will be one of the last to agree to escape. Pierce Brosnan , if the negotiations are successful, will also play an unusual role. He will become the warden of Maze Prison, confronting the fugitives.  The script is being written by the director himself, in collaboration with Nick Sheff (Murder), while Dylan Sellers (Lefty, The Understudies) will be producing the film.
