Black Adam will have the last laugh
Recently it became known that Zachary Levy got the main role in the blockbuster "Shazam". New Line and director David F. Sandberg are gearing up to begin filming next February. At the same time, the studio stepped up work on the picture about Black Adam, who was originally supposed to become Shazam's opponent.As the portal The Tracking Board managed to find out, Adam Shtikel was chosen as the scriptwriter of "Black Adam". To many, such a decision may seem strange due to Shtikel's previous experience. Until now, he has worked mainly in the comedy genre: on his account there are films "Back to Back" and "Friend of the Bride", the cartoon "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Grand Chipmunk", as well as the series "Unsuitable for Dating." However, the newly minted author is, by his own admission, an ardent fan of DC comics. Once upon a time, New Line management expressed a desire to reorient the world of Shazam to a family audience and make it not as dark as the DC cinematic universe. However, in the case of "Black Adam", who in the comics was a supervillain, then an antihero, it will be much more difficult to succeed in a comedy blockbuster. As a reminder, the role of the title character is assigned to Dwayne Johnson.  So far, the main question is whether Johnson will appear in Shazam, and Zachary Levy - in Black Adam. Cases when a film studio simultaneously works on solo films of a superhero and his main opponent are rare, so there are many opportunities for New Line. The director "Black Adam" has not yet acquired, as well as the date of the premiere, but "Shazam" will go to the big screens on April 5, 2019.
