He was born in Leningrad, but in the year of his birth his father and his family were sent into exile. But once, according to Yursky, the “owners of Leningrad” no longer wanted to see him and did everything so that no one else could see him either - neither on stage, nor on the screen. We all knew each other ... So it seemed. It seemed while I was walking in the makeup and costume of Bender or the Improviser ... It seemed so while I was (for quite a long time!) A filmed, approved actor. But then they suddenly stopped claiming me - it was just beginning ... even rumors did not have time to spread ... but the smell went ... However, Jurassic always considered himself independent - his train simply moved on. And then there was a move to Moscow, the beginning of concert activities and writing. The concerts will take an important place in the life of Sergei Yurevich. He will travel all over the Soviet Union, will perform for emigrants in New York, Chicago, Jerusalem, Cologne, Paris. Eight different two-hour concert programs: from Pushkin and Gogol to Shukshin and Zhvanetsky, from Dostoevsky, Maupassant and Chekhov to Bunin, Zoshchenko and Babel ... And Bulgakov, and Yesenin, and Burns, and even Shakespeare. More than twenty authors, more than fifty of their works. The artist was in love with literature and was proud of what he was doing:“I (not alone, of course, but among others) recruited people to the intelligentsia. I have never looked for small rooms "for our own", "for those who know and understand", but connected the knowledgeable and the ignorant in large halls and introduced them to each other ", - wrote Jurassic. For 15 years, more than a million viewers have attended his literary concerts alone.  So one day Sergei Yuryevich himself will come to writing. There was a saying:“A writer, if he is not published, can write on the table. The artist is worse - if he is not allowed to see the audience, he can only play in the box ". Yursky sarcastically:"Apparently, in order not to play with the box, I began to write on the table". So he worked for many years, but this led him to the most important work of his life - the film "Chernov / Chernov". The Spanish-Soviet film will be his only directorial work, shot according to his own script. In addition to Sergey Yursky, Andrey Smirnov, Elena Yakovleva, Oleg Basilashvili, Andrey Tolubeev, Sergey Makovetsky and others took part in the film.  The picture was two-layered: about the Soviet intellectual, the architect Aleksandr Petrovich Chernov, who was going through a mental crisis, and his illusory "Western" prototype, happier, more organized. As Yursky himself wrote, this film is about fears - small and large, about the impoverishment of the soul in the stuffy atmosphere of stagnant life, about the substitution and split personality in the conditions of total surveillance of the totalitarian regime. Each of the heroes of the picture had their own emptiness in their souls, which the director talked about. All three had one thing in common - love for trains. Alexander Chernov's thoughts were occupied by a gigantic model of the railway, Pierre Chernov was escaping from reality in a compartment of a comfortable trans-European express crossing Europe. And Sergei Yursky dreamed of his train of freedom - when he owes nothing to anyone, when all borders are open.  In the 90s, a few years after the filming of "Chernov / Chernov" ended, Sergei Yursky, like the hero of his picture, will find himself in the very heart of Europe. He will work at the Bobigny Theater in Paris, at the National Theater in Brussels, teaching acting in France and England. However, soon Sergei Yursky will begin to understand:“I will be the 564th (or 1564th) in the queue for a product called 'the interest of the foreign public'.
