Image The audience did not have time to enjoy the three-part adaptation of the fairy tale "A Christmas Carol" when the news came from Hollywood about the start of work on yet another adaptation of Charles Dickens. Legendary Global will bring the heroes of A Tale of Two Cities to TV.

The first publication of the book took place in 1859. The historical novel is set during the years of the Great French Revolution. The plot revolves around Dr. Manette, who spent 18 years in the Bastille and never saw his daughter. The book became a world bestseller and sold 200 million copies. In 2003, she was ranked 63rd in the BBC's 200 Best Novels.

The novel will be adapted by Jack Thorne (Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, Dark Principles). The Briton is already familiar with Dickens's work: three years ago, he collaborated with the Old Vic Theater in London on the play A Christmas Carol.
