The Phantom of the Opera will be a TV series
Gaston Leroux's novel The Phantom of the Opera has been adapted for film and television countless times. Soon, viewers will be able to once again enjoy the story of the Phantom and Christina - the French company Gaumont, behind the drama "Barygi", will turn Leroux's work into a mini-series. It will consist of six episodes.The project is being carried out by the British division of Gaumont, which has already attracted writer and screenwriter Anthony Horowitz ("Stormbreaker"). It is he who will have to rethink the gothic story about a disfigured composer living in basements under the Paris Opera House, and his tragic love for the singer Christine. One of the most popular adaptations of The Phantom of the Opera is still the musical of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber, which has become a hit on the stage in many countries. However, the new project is likely to be based more on Leroux's original novel.  Don't forget about the 2004 musical film starring Gerard Butler. The film received three Oscar nominations.
