WB found Lord of the Flies director

Image Warner Bros. Studio does not lose hope of filming one of the greatest books of the 20th century. The management of the Hollywood company will use the services of Italian director Luca Guadagnino to launch the film adaptation of William Golding's novel Lord of the Flies.

The British author's debut work was published in 1954. Half a century later, it entered such well-known literary ratings as the "200 best books according to the BBC" and "100 best English-language novels according to the version of Time". Lord of the Flies tells the story of a group of boys who crashed on an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. Soon teenagers succumb to primal instincts and begin to worship the mysterious Beast ...

Work on the film adaptation of the book started in August 2017. The WB bosses decided to support the fashionable film trend and announced a change in the gender of the characters in the novel.

Fighters for social justice immediately accused the studio of entrusting the script of a film about a group of girls to a male duo of authors. As a result, the project was almost frozen. News came from Hollywood today that the WB leadership backed down and returned to Golding's original idea: the victims of the plane crash will again become boys. Sources close to the studio's management claim that negotiations with Guadagnino are reaching the home stretch. The name of the Italian became known to a wide range of viewers in 2017, when his romantic drama Call Me by Your Name was released.
