Netflix has an unforgettable prom
Renowned director, screenwriter and producer Ryan Murphy signed a five-year contract with online service Netflix in February last year. Since then, he has already launched TV series about the golden age of Hollywood, the young Californian politician and the unfriendly sister Ratched from the Oscar-winning film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The six-time Emmy Award winner decided it was time to work off his $ 300 million royalties not only for television, but also for film projects. Ryan today announced the names of the all-star recruits for the movie adaptation of The Prom.Netflix executives acquired the rights to a film adaptation of the Broadway hit in April this year. Murphy expects to act as producer and director of the film. The original musical premiered in 2016 at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta. In the center of its plot was four fading Broadway stars, who went to the conservative town of Edgewater to help a gay schoolgirl, who was forbidden to come to prom with another girl. The audience provided such a warm welcome to the musical that after two years it reached Broadway. The new production of Prom has earned seven nominations for the main US theater award - Tony.  Meryl Streep, Andrew Rannells, Nicole Kidman and James Corden will portray the caring Broadway actors. Keegan-Michael Key will play the headmaster of Edgewater High School, and Aquafina will play the pen and PR shark who will cover the visit of New York stars to the American hinterland. The role of the daughter of the head of the local parent committee went to the popular American singer Ariana Grande.  Filming is expected to begin this winter.
