David Arquette Returns in New Scream

Image In March, Spyglass Media Group delighted Scream fans with great news: Gustface will return to the big screens. The details of the project were not disclosed, and fans of the film series are still wondering whether it will be a reboot or a sequel. A couple of weeks ago, original "Scream" star Neve Campbell revealed that she is already in talks to return to the role of Sidney Prescott. Surprisingly, the first official cast member of the project was not Campbell, but David Arquette.

“I'm happy to play Dewey again and reunite with my Scream family, old and new,, said the actor. -This is a big part of my life, and I hope to honor the legacy of Wes Craven for the sake of the fans and myself. ”.

Arquette has appeared in all four parts of The Scream. Its hero, police officer Dewey Riley, played an important role in revealing the identity of Goustface, was attacked more than once, but managed to survive and become a sheriff.

Scream 5 will be the first part of the franchise not to be directed by Wes Craven. The slasher is directed by Matthew Bettinelli and Tyler Gillett - a duo known as Radio Silence ("I'm Going to Search"). The team plans to start filming this year as soon as circumstances permit.
