Marvel Heroes overtook Superman and Darth Vader

Image Last month we reported that Marvel is on the cusp of world domination. At the moment, Kevin Feige's company owns 15.3% of the box office of the 100 most financially successful Dream Factory films. The Hollywood Reporter has found a simple and understandable explanation for this situation: Marvel launched its own cinematic universe only 11 years ago, but has already bypassed such long-lived franchises as Star Trek, Doctor Who and Star Wars in popularity.

On the eve of the start of the Comic-Con festival, THR and the Morning Consult analytical company found out which of the popular film and television franchises enjoys the greatest support from viewers. More than two thousand Americans took part in the survey. Almost two-thirds of them identified themselves as fans of the Marvel Universe.

On the second line of the rating with the result of 60% of the votes is the space saga "Star Wars". The third step of the podium was won by superheroes from DC comics.

The ten most popular franchises also included Harry Potter (53%), Star Trek (49%), The Lord of the Rings (48%), The Walking Dead (37%), Game of Thrones (34% ), Pokemon (30%) and Doctor Who (28%).

It should be noted that THR does not specify whether the questionnaire was open, or whether the choice of viewers was limited only to the above films and series.
