After winning the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Black Klan, the director has taken on a veteran drama for Netflix, and is now preparing to work on yet another project - the adaptation of The Cat Prince comic for Legendary.The major announced the start of work on the adaptation of the graphic novel, which is a retelling of the immortal work “Romeo and Juliet” in a new way, a year ago, and then it was planned that the main role in the film would be played by Lakeith Stanfield (“The Girl Who Stuck in the Web”) ... However, the actor dropped out of the project, and now Spike Lee will not only rewrite the script, but also find his own cat prince. The original comic speaks from Tybalt, Juliet's outspoken and explosive cousin. The feud between the Montagues and the Capulet does not subside, but it unfolds already in the Brooklyn scenery of the 80s against the background of the development of hip-hop culture, where clandestine sword and katana duels coexist with DJing, break dance and the art of graffiti.
