The fight for the Emmy will be sharper
The day before yesterday, the American Television Academy announced the name of the host of the 2020 Emmy, and today it presented some interesting amendments to the rules for forming the finalists of the TV award.Academics could not ignore the rise in television production. The Academy will also start using a floating number of nominees for other categories. If the number of applications is from 20 to 80, the usual five nominees will make it to the number of finalists for the Emmy. Further gradation is as follows: six nominees with 81-160 applications, seven - with 161-240 applications and, finally, eight nominees with 240 or more applications.  Such a decision has been brewing for a long time. In recent years, critics have often lamented that strong contenders were left behind in the final five nominees.
