Prince Zamunda has not lost his friends

Image Earlier this year, Paramount announced the start of work on the sequel to the comedy "A Trip to America". Then it became known that the inimitable Eddie Murphy would return to the image of Prince Akim in Craig Brewer's film. Now the sequel has earned extra points in the eyes of moviegoers. As it became known to our foreign colleagues, the film's producers have made a deal with another star of the original - Arsenio Hall.

Like Eddie, Arsenio played several roles in the 1988 film at once - from Akim's childhood friend Sammy to the expressive preacher Brown. For the sake of the opportunity to work again in a duet with Murphy, the TV presenter and comedian is ready to interrupt the lengthy film vacation: the last time Hall appeared on the big screen was in 2009 in the film "Black Dynamite".

The original comedy by John Landis competed for Oscars in the Best Makeup and Best Costumes categories, earned positive reviews in the press and earned more than $ 288 million on a budget of $ 39 million.

The sequel will take place three decades after the events of the original, when the prince of Zamunda returns to America to find his lost heir. Earlier it became known that the Paramount studio hopes to sign several more stars of the comedy Landis, including Shari Hidley, John Amos and James Earl Jones, to participate in the creation of the film.
