Doctor Strange sequel has changed screenwriter

Image Loki's main screenwriter Michael Waldron decided to firmly gain a foothold in the superhero genre and agreed to write the script for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The new author has replaced Jade Bartlett, who penned preliminary sketches of the plot. During Marvel's Comic-Con presentation, studio head Kevin Feige announced that the sequel to Doctor Strange will be the first scary movie in the MCU. Filming will begin in May, but the details of the plot are still under wraps.

In addition to the series "Loki", which will be broadcast on the streaming service Disney +, Waldron boasts two other active projects. In the near future, the writer will work on the multi-part family drama Heels for the Starz channel and the series Florida Man commissioned by USA.

According to rumors, the director of the film may be Sam Raimi ("Spider-Man"), for whom a place was vacated after the resignation of Scott Derrickson. The latter had to relinquish the duties of the director of the future film due to creative differences with the studio, but Derrickson still remained in the project team as an executive producer.

The premiere of the tape is scheduled for May 7, 2021.
