Jake Gyllenhaal goes to Oscar

Image Jake Gyllenhaal will join the collection of complex and controversial film images. According to foreign insiders, the Oscar nominee will act as a producer and performer of one of the leading roles in the adaptation of Alison Beckdel's graphic novel "Fun Home".

The original comic was released in June 2006. Jolly House spent a couple of weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, received a National Book Critics Circle Award nomination and won the prestigious Will Eisner Award. The graphic novel focuses on Beckdel's relationship with his father and touches on many difficult topics - from sexual identity to psychological abuse in dysfunctional families. Gyllenhaal is eyeing the role of Alison's father, who hid homosexual inclinations from the household. When the truth was revealed and his wife filed for divorce, the man committed suicide by throwing himself under the wheels of a truck.

In Jake's piggy bank, there are many bright roles, but the only Oscar nomination brought him a similar image - the cowboy Jack Twist from Brokeback Mountain. It seems that the actor wants to compete again for the main film award in the world. The adaptation of "The Merry House" will surely take part in the Oscar race. The comic has previously formed the basis of a Broadway production that won five Tony theatrical awards, including the evening's main award in the category Best Musical.

It should be noted that Gyllenhaal's officials are in no hurry to confirm his participation in the film project.
