It's hard to be Nixon
Lightbridge Entertainment will reveal the only US president to step down before the end of his four-year term in office. The California studio begins work on a six-part mini-series about the life of Richard Nixon. The group will be headed by Oscar winner Ronald Bess (Rain Man).The plot of the telenovelty will be based on the novel “Being Nixon” by Ivan Thomas. The book went on sale in 2015 and quickly made it onto the New York Times bestseller list. Nixon was first elected president of the United States in 1968. Four years later, Richard won the election again, but in 1974 he had to resign due to the Watergate scandal. The incident at the Watergate Hotel canceled out all the president's achievements in foreign policy - from the withdrawal of American troops from Vietnam to the treaty on the limitation of missile defense systems with the USSR.
