Alfred Molina preparing directorial debut

Image Golden Globe nominee Alfred Molina, known for Maverick, Chocolate and many other good films and TV shows, decided it was time for him to try himself as a director. His full-length debut will be an independent project called Lilian, which will be based on the novel by Jill Gascoigne. The literary source will be adapted by screenwriter Amy Love Starban (Kelly & Cal).

The film tells the story of a woman named Jessica, who, in the fight against her cancer, decides to leave her husband and children and go from her native England to the United States to visit an old friend and rediscover the joy of life. Once on the other shores and reconsidering her path, she suddenly realizes that she has fallen in love with another woman. Apparently, the name of the latter is included in the title of the tape.

“I've always wanted to make films,” admitted Molina. - As a child, I was incredibly inspired by the films of Carol Reed. It all started with them. Novel " Lillian " I read it many years ago, and it touched me to the core. This is such a beautiful story about a woman who lost hope and purpose in life, but found a spark of love and passion. Together with my wonderful team, I want to put all my energy and zeal into this work. "

Filming will begin in the fall in Los Angeles.
