American screenwriter, director and producer Dax Phelan will delight fans of boxing and life dramas: the creator of the critically acclaimed thriller Jasmine bought the rights to film the book Travelers: The Reverse Side of the Boxing Business and a New Look at the Noble Art.The novel by Englishman Mark Turley says that not all professional boxers participate in the fight for championship belts and multimillion-dollar contracts. In the center of the plot - one of the so-called traveling boxers, roaming the UK in search of low-paying fights. The protagonist has long and unsuccessfully struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. Constant head injuries have led to the fact that each subsequent fight can be fatal. Phelan will take the director's chair and write the screenplay in collaboration with the author of the book.
