Hitchhiker's Guide to the Eras

Image Last year, the Epix channel delighted TV lovers with several interesting novelties, among them - the crime drama Pennyworth and the neo-noir Enterprise Eternal Grace. The appetite for the cable network is growing: during the winter press tour of the TV Critics Association, Epix representatives announced the start of work on three new projects at once, about completely different historical eras.

The first of the new shows will be the screen version of Bernard Cornwell's trilogy, dedicated to the life of King Arthur. The series, titled "The King of Winter", will be produced by Bad Wolf, the company responsible for the creation of Dark Materials. In the original series of Cornwell, history is closely intertwined with legend, and the action takes place in the Dark Ages, full of cruelty and religious fanaticism.

The second of the planned projects is also a film adaptation of a literary work: the honor was awarded to the novel by Ken Follett "The Pillar of Fire". Its events take place in the second half of the 16th century and revolve around two young people from Kingsbridge. Ned Willard and Marjorie Fitzgerald love each other, but their families are on opposite sides of political and religious barricades. Pillar of Fire is the third book in the Kingsbridge series and the previous two, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End, have already been adapted for small screens.

After the Middle Ages, Epix will be transported to the 20th century. The main characters of the series "Gibson Station" will be three 20-year-old friends who are trying to realize their dreams and find themselves in America during the reign of Ronald Reagan.
