Apollo 10 1/2 brings Richard Linklater to Netflix
It became known that the new project of Richard Linklater Apollo 10 1/2 will go to the streaming platform Netflix. The director, who has been filming the drama Boyhood for 12 years, is currently filming an animated film dedicated to the 51st anniversary of the launch of the manned spacecraft Apollo 11.The action takes place in 1969 during the historic Apollo 11 landing on the moon. The film is inspired by the director's childhood spent in the Texas city of Houston, on the territory of which the NASA space center is located. Linklater himself wrote the script for the tape: the director tried to show the story from different angles - the eyes of the mission astronaut, the flight control team, and the observations of an enthusiastic child who lives near the space center, but watches what is happening mainly on TV. Apollo 10 1/2 is a story about childhood fantasies, about a dream to escape from everyday life in the suburbs and go on a secret mission to the moon.  The cast includes Josh Wiggins, Jack Black, Zachary Levi and Glen Powell. When creating Apollo 10 1/2, a method of combining live action with computer and hand-drawn animation was used. The winner of the Golden Globe and several Oscar nominations has already used a similar style in the 2001 drama Awakening Life.
