The Overlord director will direct a film with Sylvester Stallone
When Sylvester Stallone meets the "right" director, the actor manages to sparkle with new sides of talent - for example, it was in the movie "Creed: Rocky's Legacy" by Ryan Coogler. A future project with Stallone's participation called Samaritian also deserves attention: as it became known yesterday, Julius Avery, who announced himself with Overlord, took over the director's chair.The original script by Bragi F. Jester (Claustrophobes) tells the story of the adventures of a boy who is about to clarify the fate of a superhero who disappeared without a trace 20 years ago. The idol is obviously still alive, but for the last two decades he has been avoiding public attention. What was the reason for such secrecy? What if the superhero once failed to save the situation or loved ones? How did this affect the psyche of the superman? It is unknown how far "The Samaritan" will go in search of answers to these questions, but Avery's involvement makes it clear that the film will have much more depth than snatches of information about the tape suggest. Avery impressed audiences by directing Young Blood, starring Ewan McGregor, Brenton Thwaites and Alicia Vikander. The next step towards recognition was Overlord, which was not as successful at the box office, but received a warm welcome from critics. The Samaritan could be a leap up the career ladder for the Australian director and lead to other landmark projects. Avery just needs to try not to let the future film stall at the stage of the advertising campaign, as happened with Overlord.  Filming for The Samaritan will begin early next year. Stallone's confidence in the success of the project is evidenced by the fact that the actor is producing the tape through his own film company Balboa Productions.
