Dark Shadows Coming to The CW
It's only been seven years since Barnabas Collins' last visit to the big screens, but the chilly body of a vampire haunts the television producers. The CW is launching a gothic drama called Dark Shadows: Reincarnation *, which will be the sequel to the classic TV series Dark Shadows, which ran from 1966 to 1971.The new project is a modern sequel to the bizarre and eerie saga of the powerful Collins family of Collinwood, Maine. This mysterious clan shuns the public eye because of the ancestral curse that has plagued the Collins for 400 years. The original series was incredibly popular in its day, and it should come as no surprise that subsequent generations have tried to emulate the classics. In 1991, NBC released a one-season remake of Dark Shadows, and a similar project from The WB did not survive the pilot stage. Well, many viewers are familiar with the modern film version of "Dark Shadows": in 2012 Tim Burton presented to the public a gothic tragicomedy with Johnny Depp in the title role, which, unfortunately, was not very successful financially, and received mixed reviews from critics .  The CW project will be led by Mark B. Perry ("Revenge"), who is a fan of the original series.
