The endless space attracts Hollywood actors, attracting them to work on new fantastic projects. Tom Cruise is even ready to take part in filming outside of Earth. He is trying to keep up with his colleague Ryan Gosling: just a couple of years ago, the two-time Oscar nominee became the first person on the moon, but is already preparing for the next space mission. The unnamed project will be based on a new novel by Andy Weir, author of The Martian. Studio MGM announced the film in March and has already managed to select directors for it.|
Phil Lord and Chris Miller will go to the cinema space with Gosling. With the duo signing an exclusive deal with Universal, MGM's Michael DeLuca had to persuade rival studio head Donna Langley to loan him the production duo. Fortunately, everything ended well, and the adaptation of Weir's novel will be Lord and Miller's next directorial project.
The book will not be published until next spring, so the details of the plot are kept secret. It is only known that it will be the story of an astronaut who is forced to save the planet alone.
Among the producers of the project was Amy Pascal, who is well acquainted with Lord and Miller, - together they worked on the Oscar-winning cartoon "Spider-Man: Into the Universes". Well, the director's duo, in turn, has already encountered the work of Andy Weir. Once the filmmakers were going to film the novel "Artemis", but the 20th Century Fox project has sunk into oblivion.
