Legendary talks about Jimi Hendrix's life
As reported by Deadline , Legendary Entertainment invited Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, Captain Phillips) to take the director's chair of the legendary musician's biopic Jimi Hendrix .Legendary and Greengrass have been developing this project since 2009, but then the script by Max Borenstein ("Godzilla") did not suit the relatives of Hendrix . Experience Hendrix refused to cooperate with the Hollywood studio, fearing that the film could harm the musician's record sales. At that time, Anthony Mackie ("The First Avenger: Another War") was considered the main contender for the role of Jimi . Reportedly, the studio bosses decided to change the vector of the project's development and brought in Scott Silver ("The Fighter") to work on the script. The new version of the text was arranged by the representatives of Experience Hendrix , who gave permission to use all the musician's hits in the biopic. Thomas Tall, John Jashney, Janie Hendrix and Peter Afterman will be producing.  The previous attempt to tell the story of the musician's life ended in a deafening failure. The creators of the picture "Jimi Hendrix" could not get permission to use his songs, and the collection of the biopic in the United States amounted to only $ 340 thousand . Greengrass also plans to work on a new film about the adventures of Jason Bourne , which is scheduled to premiere on July 29, 2016 .
