The Rocky Horror Show Goes To TV

Image As reported by Deadline , Fox has begun work on a TV remake of Jim Charmain's cult film The Rocky Horror Show .

The idea of creating the project came from the leadership of Fox back in 2003. Producer Gail Berman hoped to time the new version to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the musical by Richard O'Brien, which became the basis of the plot of the movie Charman . The project was frozen, and a few years later the attempt by Berman to begin work on a remake on MTV was unsuccessful.

Now the bosses of Fox are planning to release the TV movie on screens for the 40th anniversary of the premiere of the tape Charmain . Along with Berman , original producer Lou Adler will take part in the remake, and famed choreographer Kenny Ortega (Michael Jackson: That's All) will take over as director.

In 2005, the Rocky Horror Show was added to the National Film Registry of the US Library of Congress. The musical still does not leave the screens of cinemas, and since its premiere in 1975, its collections in the American box office alone have exceeded the budget a hundred times. The main characters of the film were newlyweds Janet (Susan Sarandon) and Brad (Barry Bostwick), who, after a car breakdown, were forced to find shelter in the mansion of an eccentric doctor Frank-n- Furter (Tim Curry).

Reportedly, the creators of the remake hope to rethink the musical visually, but at the same time use the old lyrics and music.
