Image As reported by The Tracking Board , The Weinstein Company and Polymorphic Pictures have found a director for their long-running project How Starbucks Saved My Life b>"* ( How Starbucks Saved My Life ). It will be Ned Benson , who in September 2014 received an invitation to rewrite the script for the film, the original version of which was penned by Robert Nelson Jacobs.

The film will be an adaptation of Michael Gates Gill's memoirs of the same name, published in 2007.At the center of the action is a successful advertising agency worker who loses his job and wife after doctors discover he has a brain tumor. But the man did not give up and found a new meaning in life for himself - he started working at Starbucks .

The project has been under development since 2006, when the studio Universal acquired the rights to film the memoirs even before their publication. At that time, Gus Van Sant was listed as the director of the picture, and Tom Hanks planned to play the main role in it. The project passed to The Weinstein Co. in 2013, where it immediately became one of the top priorities.

Benson made his directorial debut in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, starring James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain, while the filmmaker is currently adapting Steve Martin's Object of Beauty.
