Quentin Tarantino will not be directing any of the next Star Trek movies. According to Deadline, the famous director dropped out of the project. The reasons for the incident are not specified.

Recall that for the first time that Tarantino could shoot the next full-length movie "Star Trek", it was announced back in 2017. Allegedly, the director offered the management of the Paramount studio and producer Jay Jay Abrams some "interesting idea" for the development of the franchise, which received support. It has been suggested that this tape, unlike others, can be designed for an older audience and receive an R rating at the American box office. However, this project was never put into production.

The last movie from the Star Trek series at the time of this writing titled "Star Trek 3: Infinity" was presented to viewers in 2016. It flopped at the box office, grossing only $ 343 million with a production budget of $ 185 million.

At the end of 2019, it became known that Paramount studio was ready to entrust the development of the series to director Noah Hawley, who has mostly television series such as Fargo and Legion.
