Casting: Egerton to Sherwood Forest, Shannon to Ford

Image Deadline announces that rising movie star Theron Egerton is in talks to take the lead in the studio's Robin Hood: Origins Lionsgate .

Otto Buferst ( Peaky Blinders ) is in the director's chair for the project, which is a new, darker take on the story of the robber from the Sherwood Forest. Those who have already read Joby Harold's script compare the atmosphere of the picture to Nolan's "The Dark Knight." Among the producers of the film are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Basil Ivanik, Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell.

In the story, the title character returns from a crusade and discovers that corruption and evil reign in Sherwood Forest. To take matters into their own hands, Robin Hood gathers a gang of robbers ...

Taron Egerton is known to many viewers for the action comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service, and soon the actor can be seen in the crime thriller The Legend and the sports drama Eddie The Eagle.

Michael Shannon ("Man of Steel") and Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Avengers: Age of Ultron") will join Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of Tom Ford's new film Nocturnal Animals . The script is being written by the director himself, adapting Austin Wright's Tony and Susan .

The film, like the work itself, will tell two stories. In the center of events in one of them is a woman ( Adams ), who received a manuscript from her ex-husband with a request to evaluate his work. Another plot revolves around a man ( Gyllenhaal ), whose family vacation turns into a real hell. This case will be investigated by a police detective played by Shannon , and Taylor-Johnson will play a mysterious hero, strangely connected to the incident.

Finally, Keith Stanfield (Short Term 12) will star in the as-yet-untitled Colin Warner film. In 1980, an 18-year-old teenager was mistakenly identified as the culprit in a street murder. He served 20 years in prison, and only in 2001 his best friend Karl King , even without a legal education, was able to prove the innocence of Warner . Kinga will play Nnamdi Asomuga ("Wedge by wedge") in the film. The project will be directed by Matt Ruskin.
