Lara Croft will follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones
Believe it or not, the first rumors of a reboot of the " Lara Croft " movie franchise appeared almost ten years ago. In 2011, GK Films acquired the rights to film the popular video game series, followed by Hollywood majors such as Warner Bros. and MGM b>. Last November, the project finally got off the ground when Norwegian Roar Uthaug was appointed its helmsman.In an interview with IGN , the filmmaker shared some curious thoughts on the upcoming movie about the famous adventurer. According to Uthaug , like the reboot of the game franchise three years ago, the tape will tell the backstory of Lara Croft . At the same time, the director has not yet begun to go into the details of the plot of the upcoming blockbuster. A few months ago, a new game about Lara Croft , which won the Writers Guild of America award, went on sale. Roar is going to take a cue from the authors of the last two video games and has no plans to position the Tomb Raider solely as a sex symbol. “I want Lara to look like a real living person, not a caricature, - said the director. -I've always been a fan of strong female characters. In all my films, there are heroines of this kind”.  Another source of inspiration for the Lara Croft reboot for Uthaug comes from the Indiana Jones franchise. “Since childhood, I have loved the film“ In Search of the Lost Ark ”, - said the director. "Needless to say, I have long dreamed of working in the action adventure genre."  Uthauga 's latest project, The Wave, has been well received by critics and has become the highest grossing Norwegian film of 2015.
