America and China to launch Flying Tigers into battle

Image American studio Skydance Media and Chinese film company Alibaba Pictures will join forces on the war drama "Flying Tigers ", reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Oscar nominee Randall Wallace (Braveheart) will write the script for the film about the exploits of the pilots of the legendary air force unit. The idea to create a fighter air group came to the head of the US Air Force officer Clare Lee Shannolt in the late thirties of the last century, when he saw that Chinese aircraft were losing in the air to the Japanese aviation forces. On April 15, 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt allowed his compatriots to join the volunteer unit in China, which soon became the " Flying Tigers ".

In aerial battles, the American pilots of the squadron destroyed 229 enemy aircraft, losing only six of their own fighters.
